Statement of Purpose:

The Western New England Editorial Freelancers' Network is an informal association of self-employed professionals who work with words. Our membership includes editors of many types of publications, proofreaders, indexers, researchers, and others. Many members have found the network a valuable source of information and advice, a useful job exchange, and a way of breaking the isolation experienced by many people who work alone.

We are a local/regional group based in Western New England with a focus on face-to-face interaction, and we serve clients nationwide and around the world. We generally meet one evening every other month, currently at the Jones Library in Amherst, MA. These gatherings may include a speaker or focus on a particular topic of interest, but time is always provided for informal sharing and networking. We also get together for more informal drop-in lunches and other social events in the alternate months.
